ASHLEY 10TH IN HEPTATHLON AT WORLD MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS
July 06 - 17, 2011
Temperatures of 98 degrees and an uncharacteristic performance had Ashley Childs placing 10th in the World Masters Championships Heptathlon. She PR’d in the 80 meter hurdles, the 200 meters, and the 800 meters. With unusually difficult performances in the high jump, javelin, shot put and long jump, she finished five places lower than her pre-meet ranking. Her specialty, the 2000 meter Steeple Chase is on July 17.

ASHLEY at USA Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships
July 28 to 31, 2011
Ashley made up for some of the disappointment at the World Championships by claiming two Gold Medals in the Pentathlon and the Steeple Chase. She won the Pentathlon with its new point scoring methods with 2480 points and in the Steeple ran a second best personal time of 10:24 flat. In both events she ran against a field of far younger athletes beating most of them though in the steeple she ran against both world and national record holders who both were outstanding to say the least. Still she had an outstanding meet and is looking forward to improving her times and efforts in both the future X-C, indoor and outdoor seasons.
